Practical advice
• If you operate a small shop you can prepare small amounts of each design. It can be a great way to handle quick orders as the transfers can sit in storage for a long time.
• Before pressing on good clothes try testing on unused garments to ensure that you understand the production process correctly.
• Avoid buying home printers and converting them to DTF as you will run into continuous technical problems and will not be able to achieve high quality prints at all times. Rather leave it to the professionals that use industrial printers that are designed to print with such dense inks.
• Think wisely before purchasing expensive printers as these need to be maintained daily and must be kept printing for long hours to ensure good ink flow. If the printers sit unused the print heads clog, which most of the time leads to thousands in repairs. Instead you can test your business idea by ordering transfers and applying them with your heat press. This way you avoid large investments and maintenance risks.
